Bob Berky-Stone in His Pockets: Charlie Conlon

Bob Berky has performed as a solo artist throughout the world. He was awarded an OBIE AWARD for his work with the performance ensemble Foolsfire, an Edinburgh Festival Award for his one man show Out Of The Blue, and The Kennedy Center’s 1991 New American Plays Award for his first play, Cooking The World. His second play, The Dictator’s Nose was produced in L.A. in 1999, and his third play, The Redness of the Woodpecker has won many awards. Bob teaches extensively throughout the U.S.

Alice Venessa Bever – The God Committee: Dr. Kierra Banks; Eleemosynary: Echo

Alice has spent the last five years in Naples, Italy, performing and touring with Malatheatre and Teatro Diana as well as producing her own works. During college she focused on directing and writing for ensemble projects and developed a passion for Shakespeare, a cappella and choreography. Studying at the Eugene O’Neill Center (The National Theatre Institute), working for the Roundabout Theatre in New York and being a part of the vivacious theatre scene of Napoli directed her on an eclectic theatre path which has now led her to Off Square. She looks forward to all the new creative opportunities in Jackson where she will be able share her knowledge of Italian theatre and culture with the community.

Caryn Flanagan – The God Committee: Nella Larkin; Eleemosynary: Artie

Caryn Daus Flanagan is a resident artist of Off Square Theatre Company. Recent Jackson Hole stage appearances include Peter Pan, Sylvia, I Hate Hamlet, Death of a Salesman, and Proof. She received a BA in Drama from Colorado College and participated in the acting program at The Theatre School, DePaul University.

Todd Hjelt – The God Committee: Dominick Piero; Stones in His Pockets: Jake Quinn

After studying theatre at Pitzer College Todd moved to Jackson where he has been acting, teaching and directing for almost 15 years. Todd works as a guest artist and teacher at Jackson Hole High School and Jackson Hole Community School and is a founding member of Jackson’s own improvisational comedy group Out Of Thin Air. He has recently appeared in such Off Square Productions as Crazy Love, I’ll Never Be Hungry Again, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged, How I learned to Drive, The Odd Couple and Peter Pan. He lives in Jackson with his wife, Holly and his Bassett hounds Flip and Flash.

Stephen Lottridge – The God Committee: Father Dunbar

Stephen is a psychologist in private practice in Jackson, where he has lived for 13 years. Before becoming a psychologist, he was a professor of Slavic languages and Literatures in the Northeast. In the 1970s, he did some experimental theatre in the Boston area. In Jackson, he has read in the Off Square performances of The Laramie Project and The Exonerated. He has also appeared in the role as Nonno in the Riot Act’s production of Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape. He has taken adult acting classes, and is grateful for the support of his partner, children, friends and teacher, and to Off Square for this opportunity.

Jamie Reilly – The God Committee: Dr. Alex Gorman

Jamie has been performing in Jackson Hole since moving here in 2002. He was seen most recently in Off Square Theatre Company’s productions of Crazy Love (Reverend Binder/Sinclair/Drunken Shriner), I’ll Never be Hungry Again (Texas Businessman/Drunken Shriner/Reverend Binder), Sylvia (Tom/Phyllis/Leslie) and I Hate Hamlet (ghost of John Barrymore). He is a founding member of Jackson’s Improv Comedy Troupe, Out of Thin Air, and is delighted to be returning to the stage in Jackson after a seven-month sojourn traveling the world.

Terry Schwab – The God Committee: Dr. Jack Klee; Costume designer

Terry comes to Off Square Theatre Company from Crossville, Tennessee, where he was a Resident Actor, Director, and Costume Designer with the Cumberland County Playhouse for over 20 seasons. He has performed all over the Southeast with various theatre companies, including Tennessee Repertory Theatre, GMT Productions, The Lost Colony, Memphis Black Repertory Theatre, and New Harmony Theatre. Favorite roles include Man of La Mancha (Don Quixote/Cervantes), Children of a Lesser God (James Leeds), 1776 (John Adams) and The Music Man (Harold Hill). Recent costume design credits include Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Little Me, Greater Tuna, Always…Patsy Cline and Evita. Special thanks to wife Tracy and our two “kids,” Whoopie and Watusi, and extra-special thanks to Briggs for believing.

Judith Townsend – The God Committee: Dr. Ann Ross; Eleemosynary: Dorothea

Judith returns to acting after teaching and directing high school drama for the past 12 years and raising her son, Townsend (now a college man). Before that, she performed Off Broadway in The Taming of the Shrew (Bianca), Play Me A Country Song (Ellen) and in Shogun Macbeth (Spider Witch). Regionally, Judith won a Carbonell Award for her performance of Artie in Eleemosynary (Florida Stage),and was also nominated for her performances in The Stickwife and The Tattler. In television and film, she originated Kelly Turtle in the award-winning children’s series, The Magic Place(Cine Golden Eagle), played an informant in Unsolved Mysteries, multiple roles in The Robber Bridegroom for Showtime, and Claire in an episode of the “action” series Superforce. Musical credits include Jenny in Shenandoah (An Evening, NY), How to Succeed in Business (Coachlight , CT), South Pacific (Northstage, NY) and numerous summer stock productions. She resides in Jackson with husband, John Briggs.

John R. Briggs – Director, The God Committee, Eleemosynary

John is a Wyoming native and graduate of the University of Wyoming who brings a wealth of experience as an Artistic Director and Producer. He is a talented director, playwright and teacher whose productions have been seen at such theatres as the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Barter Theatre, Cumberland County Playhouse, Florida Stage, Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, Merrimack Repertory Theatre and many more, including on Broadway. His passion for the theatre is matched only by his joy at returning to Jackson Hole where he helped found Dirty Jacks and the Jackson Hole Opera Company in the early 1970s.

Chris Clavelli – Director: Stones in His Pockets

Chris is a resident director with The Depot Theatre in Westport, NY. His directing credits span the country, including: The Kennedy Center, The Philadelphia Theatre Company, The Florida Repertory Theatre, The Actors Theatre of Louisville, Florida Stage, Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Directors Company, The New York Fringe Festival, The Virginia Stage Company, The Two River Theatre Company and The Riverside Theatre. As an actor, Chris made his Off Broadway debut in the smash hit comedy All in the Timing. His television credits include The Sopranos, Rescue Me and many Law and Order shows. He is the two –time recipient of The Carbonell for his work with John Briggs in The Florida Shakespeare Festival’s production of The Mystery of Irma Vep and The Barrymore Award for Jess Ilias.

Bill Kimble – Technical Director

Bill is a recent transplant from Philadelphia, PA. He earned his B.A. in theatre and literature as well as his M.F.A. in Theatrical Technical Production from Florida State University. While in Florida he worked in various technical capacities for Tallahassee Community College, the Southern Shakespeare Festival, and Tallahassee Little Theatre. He has worked in Simsbury, CT for the Centennial Theatre Festival, Beach Haven, NJ for Surflight Theatre, and Cooperstown, NY for Glimmerglass Opera. Most recently he has worked for Flying by Foy, traveling the country to work on various productions involving flying actors, including The Pirate Queen and Mary Poppins on Broadway. He is very pleased to have joined the staff at Offsquare, and is looking forward to be part of a learning and growing theatre community. He would like to thank Rebecca for all her support and love.

Don Kushner – Set Design

Don is the technical director at the Center for the Arts and has enjoyed a devoted career in the arts including numerous credits on Broadway, Opera, Film/ Television and Art Museums worldwide. His extensive credits include 42nd Street, Dream Girls, Greater Tuna, Saturday Night Live, The Cosby Show, and The Soprano’s, as well as sculpture with Clause Oldenburg, Frank O. Gehry, and many others. He is proud to call Jackson home and to have worked in the arts community in the Tetons for twelve years.

Tracy Schwab – Stage Manager

Tracy holds a BFA in Theatre from Western Kentucky University, and joins the Off Square Theatre Company after 13 seasons with the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, Tennessee. While serving as Production Stage Manager for the Playhouse, Tracy stage-managed well over 60 productions, including the World Premiere revision of Two by Two, directed by Martin Charnin (Annie). Tracy also stage-managed the first national tour of the Off-Broadway show Cowgirls with Circa ‘21 Productions.

Clint Thorton – Sound Design

Clint’s musical credits include composing the original score for Theater Gael’s production of Our Country’s Good, Gainesville Theater Alliance’s The Crucible, and Wing and A Prayer’s workshop of Paradise Lost. Sound designs include Boy Gets Girl, Wonder of the World, The Big Bang, and The Santaland Diaries at Horizon Theatre Company; Red Herring, Master Class, Take Me Out, and Incorruptible at Theatre in the Square, and many productions for Synchronicity Performance Group in Altanta, Georgia, where Clint serves as Family Series Director. He has directed several productions for Synchronicity, including last year’s popular A Year with Frog and Toad.

Doug Vogel – Light Design

Doug is the resident lighting designer for the Center for the Arts, has been doing lighting in Jackson since 1988, when he designed Quilters for the Actor’s Co-op. Since then he has been lighting designer for over 60 shows including theatre, dance, children’s and high school productions. He is currently the JHHS Auditorium Manager, and also a member of the theatrical technicians’ union, I.A.T.S.E. Local #16, San Francisco. Doug received a BA in Theatre from the University of Wisconsin and went on to tour extensively.
