Art of Storytelling – June 15-19

Collaboration with Art Association – Enroll with Art Association 733-6379

Grades K-2, $300 ($250 AA Members or Off Square Subscribers)

Calling all kids who want to be more creative in their storytelling!  Using classic nursery rhymes as examples, students will be introduced to the basic structure of stories. Collectively, they will create their own tall tale/rhyme, find their role within then develop their character ready to take to the stage. Performance 2:30pm Friday, Center for the Arts 

Musical Theatre Camp – June 22-26

Grades 2-5, $325

Look out, Broadway!  Vocal interpretation and movement skills will be put to work as campers, led by Off Square’s professional theatre artists and Dancers’ Workshop’s professional dancers, create a musical theatre event to be performed on the final day of class.

Directing & Adapting Shakespeare – June 30-July 2

Led by Thin Air Shakespeare Guest Artists


Grades 6-12 (Enrollment very limited), $150 + enrollment in Thin Air Shakespeare camp  ($450)

Students will learn the basics of directing Shakespeare and adapt a script for performance by fellow youth during Thin Air Shakespeare camp. This is a program for the dedicated student and will require some homework.

Students enrolling in this camp must also enroll in the Thin Air Shakespeare camp.

Thin Air Shakespeare Camp – July 6-17

Led by Thin Air Shakespeare Guest Artists

Grades 6-12, $450

In this two week camp, students will study all facets of performing and producing Shakespeare’s plays, including creating their own performance that will be part of the pre-show entertainment on July 17 & 18 at the Thin Air Shakespeare performances.

Comedy/Improv Camp – July 27-31

Grades 3-12, $300

In this camp, students will explore sketch comedy performing, writing and improvisation. Campers will participate in imaginative games, activities and exercises incorporating movement, speech, dramatic play and literature. This class will instill confidence, encourage the imagination and foster working with others. By the end of the class, students will have explored the fundamentals of comedy & improv – culminating in an informal performance of their very own creation!

Enchanted Forest – August 3-7

Grades K-2, $300 ($250 AA Members or Off Square Subscribers)

Once upon a time, in the days of Fairy Princesses and Frog Princes, lived little creative artists and actors willing to write and re-create their fabulous stories.  Transform the forest we know from majestic to a magical make-believe land full of laughter, joy and mystery.  Delve into both visual and performing arts to create props, costumes and a fun story to share with friends and family.  Performance 2:30pm Friday, Center for the Arts

**All youth (2nd grade and up) participating in summer camps will be eligible for the youth musical in February 2016.
