CHILDREN’S CLASSES

The Creative Adventure  

Acting Class for ages 5-7         Jan10 – Feb 28               Tuition: $120

Saturday Mornings  10:00 am - 11:00 am

Discover the creative adventure of theatre through imaginative games, activities

and exercises incorporating movement, dramatic play and literature. 

 

Journey to the Center of Imagination

Acting Class for ages 8-10        Jan 12 – March2           Tuition:$150   

Mondays 4:10pm-5:40pm           

Explore acting through theatre games, character and movement, and process                              drama in a fun and supportive environment.  Theatre is challenging fun!

 

The Joy of Performance

Acting for ages 7-10            Jan 7 – Jan 31                       Tuition $150            

Wednesdays 4:10 pm -5:40 pm  &  Saturdays 11:10 am -12:40 pm            

Put your skills learned in acting class to work as you create a show through process                  drama!  In this class you will work as a team with your fellow actors creating an original performance piece which you will perform for an invited audience.                                     PREREQUISITE:  At least one previous acting class or camp with Off Square.

Off Square Players, (OSP) Youth Troupe On going, September 4, ‘08 - May 28, ‘09 / Tuition $500/ annual fee.

Designed for the dedicated student of theatre, ages 12-18.  This conservatory training emphasizes total actor development through character study, scene-study, movement, vocal technique and improvisation. 

Entrance is by audition and interview. 

 

 

 

Second City Improvisation Workshop

(Taught by the Second City Touring Group) 

Ages 12 - Adult

Sunday, January 18th 2009.  Time: Noon - 2;00pm 

Fee:  $50  for two hour workshop. 

(This is offered to all interested--no prior experience required.) 

 

 

 

 

REGISTRATION:  Register online @ www.offsquare.org, or by calling 733-3021, or in person at our office in the Center for the Arts 240 S. Glenwood.  Classes require a 50% payment at time of registration.  A 90% refund is given to wighdrawals two week prior to class start date after which no credits or refunds please.  All classes taught by Off Square's professional theatre staff plus special guest summer instructors!

SCHOLARSHIPS:  Are available for all programs.  Early registration is encouraged and recommended for scholarship students.  For information, call 733-3021. 

LOCATION: Camps and classes meet in the Off Square Studio in the Center for the Arts, 265 S. Cache. (NOTE: Planet Earth will meet in the Art Association's Multi Purpose Studio, and Costume Creation Camp meets in the Off Square Costume and Production Shop.)
